I knew I’d be chased down and hunted like a rabbit in this one, as I’m the most discussed major Wii Wheel user of the group. Well, I’m the one who uses it the most anyway. So what I did here was change the Mii to that of “Garrick,” someone I know. I was requested to use this Mii like four months ago, but I never got around to changing that Mii until now.
This is the Gyro Cup, and if you hadn’t figured by then, the rule is that you can only use the Wii Wheel. Like the Quad Cup, I’d bet all eyes were on me.
Race #1
DS Yoshi Falls
Things went along rather swimmingly here. Not much to say, other than that I laid a Banana at the same spot in all three laps, and someone tripped over those Bananas all three times. I guess people hadn’t yet gotten the hang of the Wii Wheel quite yet.
Race #2
Moo Moo Meadows
Looking at the rather one-sided outcome in Yoshi Falls, I’d bet a lot of people have realized why a “TJefferson” is nowhere in sight, yet a “Garrick” with a two-star Golden Wii Wheel has been tearing up the scene. I got blasted like I never have. Of course, the fact that this is an easy, gentle course means the race will be very close, and anything can make or break your spot.
Race #3
Mario Circuit
Same thing over here. The icing on the cake was a Blue Shell right before the home stretch.
Race #4
Koopa Cape
And finally, a course that’s sufficiently long that the racers aren’t completely bunched up. I had no such ault, at least not as much as I saw elsewhere. I still had to do a lot of catching up, and the other people sure aren’t going to let me pass ahead.
I’ll probably be racing on Sunday as well, but I kind of wished we had courses that were a bit harder.

That’s a huge …
That’s a huge problem I have with when everyone’s really close together. On the other hand, that also means items don’t really matter too much until the second half of the final lap.
Say, wouldn’t it be obvious that there’s something dreadfully wrong with the normally pacifistic Euphemia when she suddenly…

…opened fire on the audience?
I’m not a fan of …
I’m not a fan of the really simple courses, since it means people will tend to stay in a large pack and I tend to miss out on more items than I would otherwise…and I’m already bad enough as it is at getting boxes sometimes… ^_^
I keep staying up, but I’m still not happy about it…and I doubt that Bandai could be either, since I think I heard they’ve already committed for the second season of Geass…I’ll be ed if I’m going to be subjected to any of the “comedy” tripe they’ve thrown in.
Could I join you …
Could I join you and the other racers for an online grand prix
My time zone is Eastern time zone, and my VR is about 7000
I take it that you …
I take it that you stayed up for Geass and Moribito? This episode of Geass sure was disturbing. I wonder if Euphemia will spend the rest of the series as some femme fatale in a black leather jumpsuit weilding that machine gun on a pimped-up motorcycle, a cigarette in her mouth.
Of course, the conditions weren’t ideal for the Gyro Cup when it comes to using the Wii Wheel, as three of the courses were very gentle.
Yup…”big splash”. …
Yup…”big splash”…but, I have no excuse for my shame at having been so far up on Koopa Cape and then making more than a couple of really lousy moves. Still, it’s nice to know that it only takes a couple good races to get higher on the scoreboard than one would ordinarily think…
Then again, I gather that it’s hard for most people to use the Wii Wheel if they haven’t been doing so all along. Well, I suppose it was going to happen sooner or later that we should play under conditions I like.

Oh, it was? I chose Garrick instead of someone else because I remembered someone wanted Garrick. But I couldn’t find the request.
Missing the manual? …
Missing the manual? Did you get the game used? The entire manual revolves around using the Wii Wheel, actually. It considers that its default control scheme.
I see that it happens to you too. But I don’t mind. Chaos is what Mario Kart thrives on.

thanks for using Garrick (it way my request)
I planned for these …
I planned for these tournaments, so naturally, I might’ve needed to practice on them if I wanted to be a tough opponent. (Today, I even putted the ability to look behind myself to use.) Anyways, I was missing the instruction guide to my copy of Mario Kart Wii, so you could see why I asked about it earlier.
By the way, when I play online, I sometimes feel that the entire world is also against ME, and that I’M singled out because of my skill at Mario Kart Wii.
Yeah, there’s been …
Yeah, there’s been a wave of advertisers, but their ads shouldn’t be up for any more than, say, 12 hours.
You wanted to know …
You wanted to know the controls at least two weeks in advance, and two weeks is enough to get the hang of the Wii Wheel. The races turned out to be closer than people expected.
Interestingly, this is also one of those times that CaseDoc managed to make a big splash.
That you hit me three times means you still hit me more than some other people. I don’t mean that with any anger, just pointing out the statistics.
