Mega Man 9: Endless Attack demo

A pack of downloadable content was just released today for Mega Man 9, including the ability to play as Proto Man, and a new mode called “Endless Attack”.
How Endless Attack mode works: you play through a stage with no end, trying to clear as many screens of enemies and obstacles as possible. Roughly every 30 screens you’ll fight one of the 8 bosses. The game keeps going until you die.
This video is just the first 10 minutes of my best run on this mode. I didn’t upload my entire run for 3 reasons:
1. I just intended this to be a demo of the new feature of the game.
2. My full run was 22 minutes long, so I would have to split it up into 3 videos, which I don’t feel like doing.
3. There is a section of backtracking through 1 screen killing enemies refilling my weapons, which would be boring to watch.
This mode is basically all about survival, not speed. So I conserve weapon energy in some points where it would be faster to use the Black Hole Bomb or the Tornado Blow.
My final run lasted 181 screens, as you’ll see at the end of my video. Like I said I cut out 12 minutes for the reasons listed above.

You don’t really need those “conserving weapons energy” annotations. Anyone who’s played Endless Attack understands how terribly important it is.

What platform do …
What platform do you have this for? I got 82 screens on the PS3 version, went to the leaderboards, the people with 82 screens were ~120th place.. doesn’t seem right to me, plus I wasn’t in there.. does it take a day for the boards to refresh?

nope no story the reason he has the board at the beginning is because there are no cut scenes with him and they didnt want it to just randomly apper after a certain amount of levels without saying they got i like they did with megaman

Nice run! 181 screens. Looks fun. I’m playing through the game now as Proto Man. Does anyone know if he has a different ending then the one with Mega? I find the game to be a bit easy with Proto Man, so I’m guessing he wont have any story or ending?

Okay, they throw random 6-screen segments at you; after every five segments you clear you fight a boss. The entire boss segment counts as three screens. Occasionally, the segments repeat. It’s all about weapon conservation in this mode as opposed to speed. You can take all of the time you need.
